Facelifts, mini lifts, brow lifts, neck lifts are an indispensable part of modern facial surgery. The goal of every facelift is to give a younger and fresher look through an individual step-by-step, natural correction. The facial features are not changed, the personal expression remains after a face lift.
Special mini liposuction, autologous fat injections, dermabrasion, upper and lower eyelid corrections, chin structure, cheek structuring, wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid products can best complement a facelift.
Modern methods for the corrective procedure
The today methods of face lifting involves not so much a mere face lift, but deeper structures of the face will be raised again (repositioned) and the skin attached to it shifts back to its previous location. This ensures the benefit of a natural and younger appearance.
Depending on the nature and extent of the facelift, the surgery is done under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia and twilight sleep, as an outpatient or with a stay at the clinic overnight. Often a so-called mini lift which is less costly and where the patient is fully socially acceptable three to five days after the lift.
What does an operation involve?
A facelift in the temple and forehead area requires a later unseen incision in the hair on your head or the forehead hairline – partially also possible endoscopically in so-called keyhole technology.
A face lift at the mid line of the face and neck leads to the typical facelift incision: In a natural face crease in front of the ear, around the ear lobes, behind the auricle and along the hairline at the nape. With optimal healing, the only unhidden scar (in front of the ear) is no longer visible. Two layered facelift: In addition to lifting and smoothing the skin, a second, deeper layer (SMAS) is also shortened and raised.
This kind of facelift allows a better and longer lasting result. The excess skin is removed on the dehiscence in front of and behind the ear, fat tissue and muscles repositioned, the skin tightened.
